The provincial government of Bohol (PGBh) has issued a memorandum to all mayors, chiefs of police, and the business sector stating that face shield wearing in the province is no longer mandatory.

The memorandum was issued by Provincial Administrator Kathyrin Pioquinto on Nov. 16, 2021 and a copy of the memorandum was provided to The Bohol Tribune.

The memorandum comes as people in all areas under Alert Levels 1 to 3 are no longer required to wear face shields, based on the directive of President Duterte released by Executive Sec. Salvador Medialdea on Nov. 15, 2021. Bohol is under Alert Level 2.

The memorandum says that face shield wearing in Bohol is now voluntary, except in medical and quarantine facilities where the wearing of face shields shall remain required.

“The wearing of face masks shall continue to be implemented along with other minimum health and safety standards,” Pioquinto said in the memorandum.

While it is no longer required in areas under Alert Levels 1 to 3, face shields shall still be used in areas under Alert Level 5, and in areas placed under granular lockdowns.

For areas under Alert Level 4, local government units and private businesses are given the discretion whether or not to require the use of face shields.
