Gov. Arthur Yap and Provincial Administrator Kathyrin Pioquinto have urged the various health executives in the local government units (LGU) to push for more vaccination interest among unvaccinated Boholanos, according to a report from the Provincial Information and Media Relations (PRIMER) on Nov. 25, 2021.
Yap and Pioquinto led the meeting of the Bohol inter Agency Task Force (BIATF) that was attended by various Bohol mayors, municipal health officers, BIATF medical cluster members and the private sector on Nov. 24, 2021 via Zoom teleconference.
Yap urged the meeting participants to advocate interest among unvaccinated Boholanos and educate them to get inoculated regardless of brand.
Pioquinto said all vaccine brands received here in Bohol have undergone extensive studies by experts and have been approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
She added that all vaccine brands have been found to be safe and effective in preventing hospitalization and death due to Coronavirus disease (Covid).
Pioquinto has observed that people would refuse to get vaccinated if they learn that Sinovac brand will be used.
She narrated that even the governor was inoculated with a Sinovac jab and this brand has been known to have the least adverse effects based on the experience of those vaccinated with the said brand here in the province.
According to data, Bohol has fully inoculated, so far, 32% of the target population of Bohol.
Meanwhile, local government units (LGU) are getting ready for the National Covid Vaccination Days from Nov. 29 to Dec. 1, according to Provincial Health Officer-in-Charge Dr. Cesar Tomas Lopez in a virtual presser on Nov. 24, 2021.

Duterte signed on Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2021, Proclamation 1253 which set the stage for the 3-day vaccination drive.
