With the proliferation of skyrocketing prices of basic commodities amidst the declaration f state of calamity in the province, Vice Gov. Rene Lopez Relampagos has reminded the businessmen to adhere to the price ceilings of basic commodities, which are set by the authorities in order to protect the consumers.

This comes following the issuance of the Department of Agriculture (DA) of the Price Ceiling Range for agricultural and fishery commodities in the province, released on Dec. 23, 2022.

In an effort to ease the burden of the Boholanos due to the impact of the Coronavirus disease (Covid) pandemic which was worsened by typhoon Odette, the Consumer Protection Committee chaired by Gov. Arthur Yap, with members, the Department of Agriculture – Region VII, and the Provincial Price Coordinating Council (PPCC) have come up with a Price Ceiling Range that retailers should adhere with.

Relampagos said, the Provincial Government of Bohol (PGBh), is doing its best to protect consumers from excessive commodity prices.

Relampagos reassures the public that the present leadership of the province is sensitive and empathetic to the concerns of the Boholano people, especially on the prices of basic commodities being sold in local markets.

He further reassures the public that the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) under his leadership will continue to provide support to the efforts of the current administration that are geared towards the common good.
