Brig. Gen. Jerry Bearis paid a command visit to Bohol on Jan. 18, 2023. This was the first time Bearis, as the regional director of Police for region 7, visited Bohol.
In his visit to Bohol, Bearis had a conference with Bohol Police Provincial Office chief Col. Lorenzo Batuan. The former also talked to police personnel at Camp Francisco Dagohoy and met with local officials during his visit.
The PRO7 is composed of provincial commands from Cebu, Negros Oriental, Siquijor and Bohol.
Bearis was named as the PRO 7 chief on Dec. 18, 2022 and replaced Brig. Gen. Roderick Alba who was reassigned to Camp Crame.
Alba’s removal as PRO 7 was allegedly related to the e-sabong issue – a matter which the general refused to go into the details.
Alba clarified that during his stint as PRO7 chief, he was able to conduct a huge number of operations against e-sabong in Central Visayas.
