Drug busts in Tagbilaran net P1.12M worth of shabu

Police in Tagbilaran City conducted multiple successful drug operations, resulting in the confiscation of approximately P1.12 million worth of suspected shabu and one firearm in separate buy-bust operations.

In barangay Poblacion 3, the Provincial Drug Enforcement Team arrested Roger Laway after he allegedly sold drugs to an undercover officer.

Authorities seized five sachets of suspected shabu weighing approximately 110 grams valued at P748,000.

On top of that seizure, a 9mm caliber pistol with four rounds of live ammunition and a magazine was confiscated from the suspect.

In a separate operation in barangay Dao, the Tagbilaran drug enforcement unit arrested Cezar Gañera, identified as a high-value individual (HVI).

The March 19, 2025 operation yielded three large sachets containing suspected shabu weighing approximately 55 grams with an estimated value of P374,000.

While most operations focused on Tagbilaran City, authorities also conducted a buy-bust operation in barangay Pondol, Loon, where they arrested 19-year-old Christian Pole Mara of barangay Catagbacan Handig.

The Loon municipal drug enforcement team confiscated two sachets of suspected shabu weighing approximately 0.60 grams valued at P4,080.

All suspects face charges related to violation of the Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, with Laway facing additional charges of illegal possession of firearms.
