A law graduate from the University of Bohol (UB) is recognized by the Supreme Court as having earned an “exemplary” mark after obtaining a grade of not less than 85% and not more than 90% in the 2020-2021 Bar Examinations, according to Associate Justice Marivic Leonen.
According to UB College of Law dean Atty. Gregorio Austral, he has yet to get the name of the examinee from the said University who obtained an exemplary rating.
Of the 8,241 who passed the Bar Examinations, 741 are exemplary passers and 14 examinees are deemed to be excellent passers after getting a grade of higher than 90%.
Austral said that four Bar Examinees from UB passed the Bar Examinations. The passers from UB are Marsha Boniel, Deneb Doydora, Jean Tubac and Prima Sumodobila.
UB belongs to the category of 10 or less examinees, Austral bared.
The Supreme Court released the results of the 2020-2021 Bar Examinations on Apr. 12, 2022 with a passing rate of 72.28%.
The 2020-2021 Bar Examinations took place on Feb. 4 and 6, 2022, after a 2-year postponement due to the Coronavirus disease (Covid) pandemic.
Unlike the previous batches, there is no traditional announcement of the top 10 topnotchers, Austral explained to The Bohol Tribune.
Instead, the Supreme Court recognized the examinees with excellent or exemplary performance.
Law schools were also ranked based on 2 levels: the percentage of excellent bar passers and percentage of exemplary bar passers.
This Bar Examination is the quickest turnaround of results with a little over 2 months after the exams concluded.
This is also the first time that the Bar Examinations were given in digital form and conducted in 31 testing centers nationwide.
The oath taking of successful examinees will be held on May 2, 2022. the Supreme Court reveals.
