First lady Jane Yap led other contenders in the mayoralty race in Tagbilaran City based on the survey conducted by the Holy Name University (HNU) Center for Research and Publication.

The HNU released the results of the first pre-election survey of Bohol 2022 on Apr. 8, 2022 at the Barder Gym.

This developed as Mayor John Geesnell Yap II scored a +91% satisfaction rating, based on the same survey.

The voters’ preference among Tagbilaran electorate polled showed the wife of incumbent Tagbilaran City mayor as the frontrunner in the city mayoralty derby.

The poll results said that Jane Yap is preferred by 62% of Tagbilaran voters.

Her nearest pursuer, former Tagbilaran mayor Dan Neri Lim, only eked out a voter preference rating of 10%. Vice Mayor Jose Antonio Veloso, who is aspiring to be the next city mayor of Tagbilaran, is the choice of 8% of voters polled in the city.

Moreover, councilor Vicente “Agalon” Polinar and Salvio Makinano obtained 6% and 0% voter preference rating respectively.

Mayor Yap is no longer eligible for reelection after serving three consecutive terms as city mayor and opted not to run for public office in 2022.

“I am so ecstatic, I am elated and very, very happy sa result and nagpakita lang nga ang mga katawhan sa Tagbilaran gusto ug leader with vision and action,” Jane Yap said in a radio interview over dyTR Balita FM’s Open Forum on Apr. 8, 2022 hosted by Chandymar Araneta-Batoy.

According to the results, 100% of class E voters of Tagbilaran prefer to vote for Jane Yap. Around 66% of voters from the class D are choosing Jane Yap as the next mayor, while 45% class A, B and C voters in Tagbilaran are likely to vote for the first lady of Tagbilaran City.

Around 56% of male voters and 68% of female electorate are inclined to vote for 

Jane Yap as the new mayor of Tagbilaran City, the survey says.

HIGH SATISFACTION

Mayor Yap scored a +91% satisfaction rating in the Bohol Poll 2022.

This means that nine out of ten Tagbilaranons were satisfied with his performance. Mayor Yap got the highest satisfaction rating among all the elected officials in Bohol.

Moreover, the Tagbilaran City Government was also rated very good in terms of investment promotions, which garnered +65% rating this year. The city also gained a +61% rating in livelihood and employment generation and +62% satisfaction rating for environmental protection.

Likewise, the city government obtained +58% rating for traffic management, and a rating of +87% for ensuring adequacy of drinking water among city residents.

The City Mayor’s Office was also cited as one of the best government offices in the entire province according to the Bohol Poll 2022.
