Tiptip’s Maria Bella Acero was crowned as the new Mutya sa Tagbilaran 2022, reports say.

Reports also bare that there were no pageants held in 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic.

The beauty tilt was held at the Cogon gymnasium on April 29, 2022.

Gov. Arthur C. Yap himself crowned the new Mutya sa Tagbilaran and was assisted by Mutya sa Tagbilaran 2019 Celina Villaceno.

The 1st runner-up is Taloto’s Kyra Rei Hopkins, the 2nd runner-up is Poblacion 3’s Antoinette Rain Webb, the 3rd runner-up is San Isidro’s Tiffany Romerde, and the 4th runner-up is Poblacion 2’s Claire Ann Virtudazo.

The pageant was hosted by eventologist Tim Yap and Miss Earth 2008 Karla Henry Ammann.

Among the judges were Sen. Risa Honteveros, actress Max Collins, Best Model of the World-Philippines Joshua de Leon, Bb. Pilipinas-Grand International 2021 Samantha Panlilio, Bb. Pilipinas-International Hanna Arnold, Miss Universe-Philippines 2nd runner-up Steffy Rose Aberasturi, and Master Couturier Cary Santiago.

In his message, Mayor John Geesnell Yap II said that “Saulog is a time to celebrate the fiesta that bonds families and friends together during the Summer months. The Coronavirus disease has changed all aspects of life and made people realize that there are things that are simply beyond our control.”

“Nevertheless, as we ponder in this difficult time as the turning point to learn new ways to reinvigorate our well-being and we still have the ability to be creative,” the mayor said in his speech.

Beauty contests like the Mutya sa Tagbilaran is one way to showcase the creativity of Tagbilaranons, the mayor added in his address.
