Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Asst, Sec. Asteria “Aster” Caberte looms as the next provincial administrator under the leadership of Governor-elect Erico Aristotle “Aris” Aumentado.

This was the pronouncement of Aumentado in a radio interview on May 12, 2022.

“Sa akong huna-huna sa atong provincial administrator, walay lain kun dili si Asec. Aster Caberte , aron gayud makatabang siya nato,” Aumentado said in an interview.

“Ato syang [Caberte] ge hangyo nga himoon nga administrator sa probinsya,” he added.

The governor-elect said that Caberte enjoys the former’s trust and confidence as the latter can greatly help in the pursuit of poverty reduction programs by providing livelihood.

Caberte rose from the ranks at the DTI where she used to be the provincial director then became the regional director and now sits as an assistant secretary of the said agency.

Caberte also happens to be a relative of the governor-elect.

In a text message, Caberte told The Bohol Tribune that indeed she was chosen by Aumentado to be the provincial administrator.

However, she is looking at certain concerns that she have to consider before accepting the job.

She did not elaborate further what those “concerns” are.

She ended the text message by saying, “Definitely, I’ll help Aris.”

During Caberte’s stint as regional director, the DTI Region 7 Quality Management System (QMS) was consistently certified as ISO 9001:2008 compliant starting in 2010.

The Regional Office’s smooth transition to ISO 9001:2015 certification in 2017 and the maintenance of its good QMS in 2018 and 2019 may be attributed in part to her exemplary management ability, according to reports.
