“We submit ourselves to the elections, not only to win or for those we support to win but ultimately, to serve,” Cong. Edgar Chatto emphasized this during the opening of the Liga ng mga Barangay (LnB) provincial congress on May 23, 2022 at the Bohol Tropics Resort.

Chatto spoke about roles of barangay officials, particularly in the Mandanas ruling implementation, continuing recovery, post-election results, and policy decisions on the barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections, which is slated in December 2022.

Less than a couple of weeks after elections, Chatto explained that the first important task of moving forward entails unity, further stating that setting aside political differences will enable the province’s development to flourish.

He said the pursuit of collective growth and development is the end goal of participation in the electoral process.

He further enjoined barangay officials to give growth and development a chance by extending support and cooperation to newly-elected national and local leaders.

Expressing gratitude for the continued support and the fresh mandate, Chatto intends to pursue programs on health, education, agriculture, tourism, infrastructure and information technology through his legislative agenda.

All these are consistently aligned with the shared vision for the Bohol’s growth and development.

He also commended the leadership of the Provincial Government led by Gov. Arthur Yap and Vice Gov. Rene Relampagos who turned over aid to barangays.

The LnB provincial congress was participated in by first district barangay leaders, according to reports.

The LnB is headed by Board Member Romulo Cepedoza, who is the league’s Bohol chapter president.
