Sagbayan-native cop, cohort get arrested for alleged stealing of cable wires

A police officer who is a native of Sagbayan town and a cohort were arrested for allegedly stealing cable in Cebu City on May 30, 2022, according to reports released on June 1, 2022.

Reports from the Police Regional Office (PRO)-7 identified the suspects as Staff Sgt. Joel Superales Soliva Jr., 37, of barangay Canmano, Sagbayan and Peter Lou Catulong Bantilo of barangay Sambag II, Cebu City.

The two were arrested for allegedly stealing cable wires worth P50,000.

The PRO-7 said Soliva is assigned at the Drug Enforcement Group Special Operations Unit-7.

The suspects are now under the custody of Guadalupe Police Station, reports say.

Meanwhile, PRO-7 chief Brig. Gen. Roque Eduardo Vega warns all police officers who are engaged in illegal activities to stop or else they will face the consequences of their actions, reports add.
