Panglao mayor Leonila Montero

Panglao mayor Leonila Montero gets a citation from the League of Municipalities of the Philippines (LMP)-Bohol chapter for her distinguished service to the people of Panglao spanning 9 years, according to a report.

The citation was presented to Montero during the convention  fellowship night of LMP-Bohol chapter at the Manila Hilton, Newport Boulevard, Newport City, Pasay, Metro Manila.

The citation was signed by LMP-Bohol chapter president Marietta Sumaylo and LMP-Bohol secretary general Conrada Amparo of Duero.

Members of the LMP-Bohol Chapter, convened in Manila for the term-end convention, reports add.

The league bestowed the award to Montero for her commendable service to the Municipality of Panglao as mayor for three consecutive terms from 2013 to 2022.

The citation further said that the league appreciated Montero’s unrelenting support to the LMP Bohol Chapter and her contribution to the inclusive growth, prosperity, and development of Bohol.

Moreover, Montero delivered her acceptance speech immediately after receiving the award and promised to continue rendering public service to the people of Panglao.

Montero is stepping down as mayor of Panglao after serving for 3 terms and will become a member of the Sangguniang Bayan at noon of June 30,2022.

Meanwhile, according to Buenavista mayor Dave Duallo the convention started on June 15, 2022 and ends on June 17, 2022.

He said that Governor-elect Erico Aristotle “Aris” Aumentado, 1st District Rep. Edgar Chatto and 3rd District Cong. Kristine Alexie Tutor also attended the convention.
