From the Outside Looking In

BLOW NOT YOUR OWN HORN

by Donald Sevilla

It’s no good pointing fingers at others when each of us has our own decisions and judgment to make. Laying blame and finding excuses are the

easy way out to justify the things we do, yet, come to think of it we are solely responsible for the consequences of our actions.
We reap what we sow and we sow what our innermost desires tell us to.

Our actions are most often dictated by our intentions. In a world where fame, power and wealth matter, men scramble to achieve what  most everyone perceive as success.
In a competitive world we love to win and to most people it is all that matters.

To the victors belong the spoils and winners dictate the course of history and how stories are told. Their narrative reinforces their peddled version of the truth.
But time is a spoiler and slowly peels off the layers of our camouflage. We start

off with enthusiasm, enthralled by the euphoria of our victory only to face the bitter reality that we managed to temporarily set aside.
Yet our journey is far from over. We still have a long way to go before we can

truly rest on our laurels and proclaim our legacy to our people.
“IT IS NOT IN PUTTING OTHERS DOWN   THAT WE ELEVATE OURSELVES TO OUR SUCCESS.”
