Gov. Erico Aristotle “Aris” Aumentado is the new Board Member for the Visayas of the League of Provinces of the Philippines (LPP) following elections of the said organization on July 28, 2022, according to reports from the Capitol’s Provincial Information and Media Office (PIMO).

The report mentioned that South Cotabato governor Reynaldo Tamayo, Jr. was elected as the national president of the LPP, otherwise known as the Governor’s League.

To remember, the incumbent governor’s father, the late Gov. Erico Boyles Aumentado, used to be the national president of the LPP from 2004 to 2007.

The LPP is a group of provincial governors representing all 81 provinces in the country which primarily aims to ventilate, articulate, and crystallize issues affecting provincial and metropolitan administrations.

Likewise, its website states that the LPP it serves to secure, through proper and legal means, solutions to problems concerning localities.

In a related development, Vice Gov. Dionisio Victor Balite got elected as a director for Region 7 of the League of Vice Governors  of the Philippines.

The victories of Bohol’s top two elected officials came at the heels of the election of their allies, Sevilla Vice Mayor Richard Bucag and San Isidro town councilor Gloria Biwang Gementiza as presidents of their respective leagues.

Bucag was chosen as the provincial president of the Vice Mayors League of the Philippines (VMLP)-Bohol chapter while Gementiza won as provincial president of Philippine Councilors League (PCL)-Bohol chapter.

Moreover, Bucag replaces former Tagbilaran City vice mayor Jose Antonio Veloso while Gementiza will now occupy the seat of Loay councilor Jescelo Adiong.
