The public schools within the Tagbilaran division of the Department of Education (DepEd) are ready for the implementation of full face-to-face classes on Nov. 2, 2022.
This was disclosed by the City Division Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Joseph Irwin Lagura in an interview over Newsmakers ug Uban Pa on Oct. 17, 2022, hosted by Ardy Araneta-Batoy and Dave Albarado.
He said that 10 of the 24 public schools within the said division are already conducting face-to-face classes.
These 10 schools are already implementing the full face-to-face classes ahead of schedule on Nov. 2, 2022.
He said these schools are ready to implement the full face-to-face classes because there are no more impediments in doing so.
Some schools in the division already conducted in-person classes even last school year, Lagura bared.
Moreover, the school division official said that there will be 2 shifts and the shift schedule depends on the particular school management.
One shift is in the morning while the other shift is in the afternoon.
There are some shifts that start too early such as the case of Mansasa High School, where the morning shift starts at 6 am.
Lagura said that the decision about the shift start is a judgement call among the particular school officials.
During the orientation, parents and guardians may suggest to the school administration a change of the start of time shift; if it is too early during the orientation to be conducted prior to Nov. 2, 2022, Lagura suggested.
Lagura explained that there is a need to adopt shifting schedule in order to accommodate all students amid a classroom shortage.
