October 2022 is a significant date for GEHC because it is the 13th year anniversary of the church.

In 1981, Glenn Kurka, an American Missionary came to the Philippines and conducted home Bible Studies and outdoor campaigns helped by two (2) Filipino pastors: Pastor Abastillas and a youth named Soy Lumaad (now a pastor). They were joined by two (2) others surnamed Porlares and Tuada and the group met at a house church near Coca Cola plant and started the CALVARY Baptist Church.

In 1982, Bonnie Colate moved in to Tagbilaran and joined the group  of Soy Lumaad together with the Divino family. And The Calvary Baptist Church, Tagbilaran Bohol Inc. was then registered at the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on April 25, 1984 with Octavio Abastillas, Baldomero Cadampog, Mary Porlares, Joy Abastillas, Celso Lumaad, O’neil, Kurka and Paul Halsey as the leading signatories of the official documents.

In 1983, more groups joined the fellowship represented by the Cadampog, Comiso, Lupio, Malaran, and Ido families. The succeeding years found more people becoming interested in the assembly. In fact, the purchase of the lot where the present church stands, was a product of the efforts of several people. And the name of the church, after careful deliberation and consideration, is now the Glory Evangelical Holiness Church with Pastor Ed Cadampog leading the flock.

Currently, more members have come and they include the Relativo, Burns, Araneta, Rump, Sumaylo, Curambao, Guirigay, Dinsay, Edpalina, Pogio & Fawzia families, among others.

So, on November 6, 2022, the members of GEHC gathered in their church at Dao, District for the anniversary celebration. The numbers of the program included: Worship Service, Prelude, Opening Prayer, Welcome Song, Scripture Reading, Praise & Worship, Prayer for the People, Church History Recall, Special Number from the Women’s Choier, Introduction of the Guest Speaker, Message from the Guest Speaker, The Children’s Choir, Offerings, Awarding Ceremonies, Awarding Rites, Closing Prayer and Benediction, Concluding Song and Dinner.
