The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) reported that Bohol’s economy in 2021 reached P159.9 billion.

This is P6.6 billion higher compared to 2020 where Bohol managed to get P156.6 billion in gross domestic product.

The top contributors to the Bohol 2021 GDP were: wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles, education with 0.7, and Information and communication.

The services sector is another large contributor to Bohol’s economy, followed by agriculture and fisheries, the PSA said.

During the time of the data gathering regarding the economy, at the helm of the provincial government was former Gov. Arthur Yap and the mayor of the capital city of Tagbilaran was John Geesnell Yap II.

The PSA added that Bohol is the 3rd largest contributor to Central Visayas’ gross domestic product which is P1.195 trillion.
