Top pulmonologist thinks Covid, flu vaccine will be given in one shot

Top pulmonologist Dr. Bryan Cepedoza thinks that vaccines moving forward will be developed in combination to fight not just Coronavirus disease but also flu.

He said that this could be called a bivalent vaccine and it may provide protection both for flu and Covid.

The doctor said that it is important to get inoculated using the vaccines for the two kinds of diseases for full protection.

This means, according to him, that if a person gets the flu vaccine but not the Covid vaccine, he or she is protected against flu alone. Similarly, getting just the Covid vaccine and not the flu vaccine exposes a person to the risk of flu infection.

The bivalent vaccine, he added, provides protection from both Covid and flu at the same time. He revealed all these during an interview conducted on Dec. 21, 2022.

Moreover, the doctor bared that he is still recommending the continued observance of the health and safety protocol to prevent infectious diseases.

While Covid is no longer a huge public health threat, he emphasized that there are still segments of the population that could end up with severe conditions if they get infected with respiratory diseases such as Covid.
