It is best to maintain proper weight.

Patients should maintain a range of motion and flexibility.

It is best to exercise in water or alternate weight-bearing and non-weight-bearing activities.

Patients should not carry loads more than 10% body weight.

It is best to minimize the use of stairs, one-legged stance, low seating.

The walking speed should not exacerbate joint symptoms.
