The Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) has passed the “Anti-dangling Wire Ordinance” to address the issue of wires that are already looking like “spaghetti” on the streets.

In a social media post, Bohol Board Member Aldner Damalerio said there are so many wires that are too low on the road, a risk to passersby, and these can cause traffic,

He said these are dangerous to fire, and add weight to the post, aside from being an eyesore in Bohol.

The ordinance aims to regulate the installation of wires and to ensure that they are properly installed and maintained.

The ordinance was passed after the board member had noticed the problem.

Damalerio is encouraging the public to send their photos of dangling/spaghetti wire and tag where it is located so that if the ordinance is approved, it will be included in the SP deliberation.

This ordinance is a step towards ensuring the safety of the public and the environment.

Elsewhere in the country with Davao City Government leading the implementation of this law, other LGUs are also encouraged to implement similar ordinances to address the issue of dangling/spaghetti wires.
