TaRSIER 117, Bohol’s Telephone and Radio System Integrated Emergency Response, is inaugurating its seventh substation in Candijay today, March 24.

This milestone marks the 12th year of TaRSIER’s life-saving existence in a ceremony led by Bohol Gov. Aris Aumentado.

TaRSIER 117 was created in 2011 by the administration of then Gov. Edgar Chatto, now 1st District congressman.

It has been considered among his continuing legacies and has been lauded in the country and abroad as one of the best practices of the Bohol government.

TaRSIER 117 has since established extension bases in Loon and Balilihan in the 1st District; Ubay and Talibon, 2nd District; and Carmen and Jagna, 3rd District.

Its main command center is inside the Camp Bernido in Tagbilaran City, which also gives base to the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) under Dr. Anthony Damalerio.

The younger brother of former provincial board member and Chatto’s provincial administrator, Ae Damalerio, has been regarded as the brain of TaRSIER 117. (Ven Rebo Arigo)
