Jagna’s Gender and Development Success Draws Attention fromOther Municipalities

Jagna, Philippines – The Municipality of Jagna has been making strides
in gender and development, and other municipalities are taking notice.
Recently, 87 representatives from provincial women’s associations
visited Jagna to learn more about the town’s successful approach to
empowering women in local economic development.
The representatives were warmly welcomed by Mayor Joseph Rañola
and given a tour of the facilities. A panel discussion was moderated by
Tourism Officer Ma. Lovella E. Acebes and Timoteo Escolano Jr.,
Officer-in-Charge of the Jagna Sustainable Micro Enterprise
Development Unit (JASMED).
