Bohol First District Congressman Edgar M. Chatto released a statement expressing his eagerness to listen to President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Romualdez Marcos, Jr.’s second State of the Nation Address (SONA).

In his statement, Chatto acknowledged the progress made by the administration in implementing the commitments made in the President’s first SONA last year.

According to Chatto, some of the priorities that have been fully implemented include the resumption of full face-to-face classes for students, assistance to agrarian reform beneficiaries, and efforts to address the health crisis caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.

He also mentioned ongoing efforts to establish more health centers and specialty hospitals, review the K-12 Program, improve road infrastructure through private-public partnerships, digitize processes, and promote renewable energy.

However, Chatto also highlighted some challenges that remain for the administration.

In particular, he mentioned inflation as one of the biggest challenges and expressed his expectation for plans to combat it in the President’s SONA.

He also expressed his hope to hear concrete plans with respect to climate change, which he described as an imminent concern.

As a representative of the first congressional district of the Province of Bohol, Chatto stated that he would be taking notes on important points in the SONA, especially those that would affect the grassroots and marginalized sectors of society.

Overall, Congressman Chatto’s statement reflects his readiness and eagerness to hear about the progress made by the administration and their plans for addressing ongoing challenges in the second year in office.
