BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION

Happy Birthday, Marilyn S. Lungay!

Our birthday celebrator is MARILYN S. LUNGAY and
her 64 th birthday celebration was held on the day of her
birth anniversary on July 25, 2023 at the Leeng Area at
Bohol Tropics Resort.
With “DANCING QUEENS” as the theme of the
celebration, the program, emceed by Gloria Leodivica
Ines Araneta of “SMILE”, Philippines flowed very
smoothly. After the host delivered her opening spiel,
there was an entrance of the guests led by Trifon &
Clarice and they all came in to the tune of “Dancing
Queen”
The grand entrance of the birthday celebrator followed
supported by the wine toast sponsored by Paul Lungay,
one of the sons of Marilyn. The blowing of the birthday
candle was very significant as this was done with every
guest loudly and happily singing the birthday song. After
the grace before meals was recited, the birthday
banquet followed. The serenade, during the banquet, for
the celebrator, was rendered by Mae and Joyce, the
celebrator’s daughter and staff member, respectively. Of
course, the traditional cake ceremony and the gift-giving
ceremony captured the attention of everyone. What
brought the house down was the surprise dance number
performed by the celebrator’s elementary classmates
from Barrio Luz Elementary School Class ’72 from
Cebu.

The highlight of the celebration was the selection of the
Evening’s Dancing King & Queen. This was a very lively
and lovely selection. Emerging as winners were Virgilio
and Valentina. AND THE DECISION OF THE BOARD
OF JUDGES WAS FINAL!
After the mass dance to the tune of “Forever Young”, the
celebrator elegantly went upstage to deliver her birthday
message and response. What touched the audience’s
hearts were: the reading of a letter written by the
celebrator’s daughter named Queenie and the latter’s
husband named Martin who could not be present as
they are currently residing in Austria; and the
presentation of a video show produced by Paul – the
celebrator’s son who is presently working aborad.
Some of the distinguished guests who came to the party
were: Barrio Luz Elementary School Class ‘72 of Cebu,
Judge Angie Ucat- Logarta. Panglao Mayor Boy Arcay
and wife Anne, Dauis Mayor Amoy Bullen and wife
Carmel, the celebrator’s former colleagues from the
Regional Trial Court 1, and family relatives and friends.
