Dr. Ma. Fe Piezas, the former mayor and vice mayor of Guindulman, Bohol, died on Wednesday, August 23, 2023. She was 68 years old.

Piezas was a physician who dedicated her life to serving the people of Guindulman, a town in the eastern part of Bohol province. She was elected as mayor in 2010 and served for three consecutive terms until 2019. She then ran for vice mayor in 2022 and won.

Piezas was known for her advocacy on health, education, and social welfare.

She founded the first pediatric hospital in Guindulman and supported various programs for children, women, and senior citizens. She also initiated projects to improve the infrastructure, tourism, and agriculture of the town.

Bohol 1st District Rep. Edgar Chatto expressed his sympathy and prayers for the family and loved ones of Piezas in a statement posted on his Facebook page.

He also extended his condolences to the people of Guindulman whom Piezas served as vice mayor and as former mayor.

“Our sympathy and prayers for the family and loved ones of Dr. Ma. Fe Piezas who joined our Creator. Our condolences to the people of Guindulman whom she served as vice mayor and as former mayor. May her soul rest in peace,” Chatto said.

Piezas was a member of the Nationalist People’s Coalition (NPC) party. She was also a recipient of several awards and recognitions for her outstanding public service and leadership.

Piezas is survived by her husband, Dr. Jose Piezas, and their four children.
