UB forges OJT partnership withleading Japanese Hotel Group

In a remarkable development, the University of Bohol, under the leadership of
President Dr. Victoriano B. Tirol, III, has entered into a significant agreement with
Tokyu Hotels Group, a distinguished corporate leader within the hospitality industry
of Japan.
This collaboration aims to provide invaluable international On-The-Job (OJT) training
opportunities to graduating students from the university’s Bachelor of Science in
Hospitality Management program.
Under the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), the OJT is a structured program
that affords students the unique privilege of gaining hands-on experience across a
spectrum of hotels operated by the Tokyu Hotels Group in Japan. The program
offers participants practical exposure across diverse departments and areas within
these hotels, thereby furnishing them with a holistic grasp of the operational
dynamics.
Tokyu Hotels Group will provide structured training sessions and assign dedicated
mentors or supervisors within the framework. This guidance is present throughout
the students’ OJT journey, ensuring a blend of theoretical knowledge and real-world
application. Furthermore, the initiative encompasses supplementary on-the-job
training modules, workshops, and constructive feedback sessions. The multifaceted
approach is calibrated to amplify the students’ learning curve and enhance their skill
set.
A significant aspect of this collaboration includes targeted recruitment activities,
wherein Tokyu Hotels Group will extend invitations to the participating students upon

their graduation. This integration between education and industry highlights the
mutually beneficial nature of this partnership.
The MOU was signed by Dr. Victoriano B. Tirol, III, UB President, and Mr. Masahiro
Ito, representative of Tokyu Hotels and Resort Co. Ltd., last August 29, 2023, at the
Iluminada’s Hall, UB main campus. During the signing, Mizuta Makita, Sunouchi
Yuto, Fukuda Sallie, and Dean Jane Doren Bungabong were present.
