The Bohol Investment Board (BIB), chaired by Governor Aris Aumentado, evaluated seven impressive project proposals during its third quarterly meeting on September 22, 2023, at the Belian Hotel.

The proposals ranged from waste management, renewable energy, water supply, infrastructure, and agro-environmental solutions.

These projects aim to address some of the pressing challenges and opportunities faced by the province of Bohol in terms of environmental sustainability, economic growth, and social welfare.

The Waste Management Project of Arn Central Development Corporation/Pinoy Basurero Corporation proposes to establish a sanitary landfill and a material recovery facility in the municipality of Loon.

The project also plans to provide waste collection and hauling services to nearby towns.

The Waste to Energy Project of WN Energy Incorporated intends to construct a waste-to-energy plant in the municipality of Maribojoc.

The project will use municipal solid waste as feedstock to produce electricity and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

The Solar Power Project by DRL Green Recycling Group seeks to install solar panels on rooftops of public buildings and households in the municipality of Tubigon. It will generate clean energy and provide savings on electricity bills for the beneficiaries.

The Bulk Water Supply Project in Ubay of JFAP Construction aims to develop a bulk water supply system that will source water from the Wahig River and distribute it to various barangays in the municipality of Ubay. It will improve the water supply and quality for domestic, agricultural, and industrial use.

The Solar Power Project of Bohol Solar Energy Incorporated plans to build a 50-megawatt solar power plant in the municipality of Carmen. It will contribute to the renewable energy mix of the province and the region.

The Cebu-Bohol Bridge Project of DTE Construction envisions to construct a 24-kilometer bridge that will connect Cebu and Bohol islands. The proposed bridge will enhance the connectivity and mobility of people, goods, and services between the two provinces.

Sano Agro-Environmental Corporation & ALV Water Solutions propose to implement an integrated agro-environmental project that will utilize organic farming, vermiculture, aquaponics, hydroponics, and rainwater harvesting technologies in the municipality of Talibon. It will promote food security, environmental protection, and livelihood opportunities for the local farmers.

Provincial Administrator and Committee Chairperson Asteria Caberte led the evaluation, with Bohol Economic Development and Investment Promotion Office Head Maria Fe Dominise, Provincial Planning and Development Office Head Atty. John Titus Vistal, various provincial and national government officials.
