TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol – A woman and four armed men were arrested by the
police in Barangay Cabawan on Monday morning for allegedly possessing over 2
million pesos worth of shabu.
The woman was identified as Clair Maslog, 25, a former prisoner who was released
through a plea bargain and a native of Purok 8, Calceta Street, Barangay Cogon,
this city.
Her accomplices were Mike Arong, 18, Jose Arong, 46, Reymart Puagang, 20, and
Christian Ocon, 18. They were all natives of different barangays in the province.
According to Police Captain Yolando Bagotchay Jr., the chief of the Provincial Drug
Enforcement Unit, they conducted an anti-illegal drug operation in Barangay
Cabawan around 10 a.m. after receiving a tip that Maslog was selling shabu in the
area.
When they arrived at the scene, they saw Maslog and her four companions inside a
car parked near a convenience store. They approached the suspects and found
three handguns, one caliber 45 and two 38 revolvers, loaded with live ammunition.
They also seized 300 grams of shabu from Maslog, which had an estimated value of
2,040,000 pesos based on the standard drug price.
Bagotchay said that Maslog and her cohorts were high-value targets in their drug
watch list.
He added that they were still investigating the source of the shabu and the possible
involvement of other personalities.
The suspects are now detained at the provincial police headquarters and will face
charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs
Act of 2002 and Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and
Ammunition Regulation Act.
