Former drug suspect nabbed again in Tagbilaran City

A former high value target (HVI) who was previously imprisoned for his involvement in illegal drugs was arrested again by the City Drug Enforcement Team (CDET) in a buybust operation on Saturday.

The suspect was identified as Jerome Sague, 39, a resident of Tamblot Street, this city.

He was caught selling shabu to an undercover agent around 3:08 p.m. in Upper Candait, Barangay Dampas.

According to CDET, Sague was a former HVI who was arrested in 2019 for drug trafficking and was released from jail last year after availing himself of a plea bargaining agreement.

Police said Sague resumed his illegal activities and became a supplier of shabu in the city.

The City PNP noted that Sague was under surveillance for two weeks before the operation was launched.

The operatives seized from Sague various packages of shabu weighing about 30 grams with a market value of P204,000. They also recovered the marked money used in the transaction.

Sague will face charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. He is now detained at the CDET custodial facility pending the filing of the case.
