“Aquaman 2” at Screenville Cinemas

        From DC Comics comes a sequel to “Aquaman” in 2018, “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom,” now showing until today, December 24, at Screenville Cinemas of Island City Mall and Alturas Mall.   

       Several years after the events of the first film, Arthur Curry aka Aquaman (Jason Momoa-“Braven”) is forced to protect Atlantis and his loved ones from devastation after an ancient power is unleashed by Black Manta (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II) obtaining the cursed Black Trident. 

        In order to achieve this, he will have to seek help from an unlikely ally, his brother Orm (Patrick Wilson-“Speed 2”), the former Atlantean king who was imprisoned following his crimes against Atlantis. 

       Black Manta is a ruthless pirate and high-seas mercenary who uses an Atlantean armored suit and wields the powerful Black Trident, seeking to kill Arthur as revenge for the death of his father.

“AQUAMAN AND THE LOST KINGDOM” is now showing until today, December 24, at Screenville Cinemas of Island City Mall and Alturas Mall.

“Manila Filmfest” at Screenville Cinemas

       The much-anticipated 49th edition of Metro Manila Film Festival unfolds tomorrow, December 25, Christmas Day, where the top 3 official entries will be shown until January 7, 2024, at Screenville Cinemas of Island City Mall and Alturas Mall.   

       Expected to hit the box office and grab awards in the filmfest are the Philippine historical biographical film “GomBurZa”, the horror-suspense thriller “Mallari”, and the superhero fantasy thriller “Penduko”.      

       “GomBurZa” features the lives of three Roman Catholic native Filipino priests, Fr. Mariano Gomez (Dante Rivero), Fr. Jose Burgos (Cedrick Juan), and Fr. Jacinto Zamora (Enchiong Dee), who were executed during the Spanish colonial era in the Philippines. 

       “Mallari” stars Piolo Pascual as the murderous Catholic priest, Fr. Juan Severino Mallari, who killed 57 people in the 19th century, thus becoming the first and only recorded serial killer in the Philippines. A parish priest of Magalang, Pampanga, Fr. Mallari believed that his mother was cursed which became his motive for killing.   

      “Penduko” is based on the Liwayway character Pedro Penduko served as a reboot of the character’s various film and television adaptations. 

“MALLARI” is one of the top official entries of 49th Metro Manila Fillmfest Festival which will be shown starting tomrorow, December 25, at Screenville Cinemas of Island City Mall and Alturas Mall.

Alturas Supermarket 

opens in Panglao   

The new Alturas Supermarket in Panglao recently opened last December 15, just in time for the holiday rush shopping this Yuletide season. 

Panglao Mayor Edgardo Arcay led the ceremonial ribbon cutting and  blessing of the new store last December 14, together with his wife First Lady Anecita Arcay, Bolod Barangay Captain Cayetano Domasin, Executive Assistant to the GM Helen Binangbang of the Alturas Group of Companies, Architect Mar Adonis Uy-Managing Director of Alturas-Panglao, Alturas Panglao Manager Michelle Suarez, and Marcela Farms Managing Director Honey Uy. 

        The Alturas-Panglao is located at the Mezzanine of Fixrite Hardware-Panglao, in Brgy. Bolod, Panglao, near the Bohol-Panglao Island International Airport. 

        During the opening day, the first 150 customers were given grocery pack each; while everyone availed themselves of free rides along the major thoroughfares of Panglao and Dauis. 

        Alturas-Panglao Supermarket opens daily from 8 am to 8 pm, Monday to Sunday.          

        Meanwhile, Alturas-Mall informs its valued customers especially the vehicle owners that effective January 2, 2024, the new parking fee for motorcyle is P50 good for 2 hours, with additional P10 per hour exceeding; while the 4-wheel vehicle’s parking fee is P100 good for 2 hours, with additional P20 per hour exceeding. The parking fees are consumable at Alturas Mall.

The new Alturas Supermarket in Panglao which recently opened last December 15.
