“Rewind” at Screenville

       The 49th Metro Manila Film Festival maybe over but the topgrossing  family drama “Rewind” is still showing at Screenville Cinemas of Island City Mall and Alturas Mall.  

       Celebrity couple Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera star as childhood sweethearts John and Mary whose rocky marriage causes their relationship to fall apart. Always busy from work, John hardly have spare time to spend with his family. Estranged from his father (Lito Pimentel) and the disappointment of not being promoted in his company, John is always hot-headed, so people are tense around him. But at a certain point in his life he feels guilty.  

       One day, John and Mary were arguing in the car and the unthinkable tragedy happened. John encounters a mystical being (Pepe Herrera) who tells him he will be sent back in time to the day before the accident, so that he can correct all his mistakes and repair his relationship with his wife and family. 

       With everything to lose and to hope for, John rewinds his life and discovers that the true meaning of happiness comes from the thing he has taken for granted – love.

“Anyone But You” 

at Screenville 

        A romantic comedy loosely based from William Shakespeare’s “Much Ado About Nothing” about two sworn enemies who fall in love with each other, “Anyone But You” will premiere on Wednesday, January 17, at Screenville Cinemas of Island City Mall and Alturas Mall.   

       As a law student at Boston University, Bea (Sydney Sweeney-“Euphoria”) meets Ben (Glen Powell-“Top Gun: Maverick”), and sparks fly immediately between the two having an instant connection. They spend the day and night passionately talking and ultimately falling asleep together on Ben’s couch in his apartment.   

       After the one night stand encounter, Bea was insulted and the two hate each other. However, after six months the college arch nemesis reunite after crossing paths during Bea’s sister wedding with Ben’s childhood friend in Australia.  

       For the sake of the wedding, they pretend to be a couple for their own personal reasons. But through pretending, they actually fall in love.
