On Jan. 5, 2024, Buenavista Mayor Dave Duallo (center) led a a group to receive the award for and on behalf of the town of Buenavista. The LGU Buenavista post said: “Congratulations Municipality of Buenavista for being the recipient of the GAWAD KALASAG SEAL OF EXCELLENCE!” Buenavista town became an awardee for this excellence as it garnered a rating of 1.67 in the 23rd Gawad Kalasag Seal for Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Councils and Offices (LDRRMCOs) Category for CY 2023. The post continued also said: “Good job Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) Cherry Merin and Staff of the Emergency Response Team, Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management (MDRRM) Council and LGU Buenavista!” Contributed photo
