On Jan. 5, 2024, Buenavista Mayor Dave Duallo (center) led a a group to receive the award for and on behalf of the town of Buenavista. The LGU Buenavista post said: “Congratulations Municipality of Buenavista for being the recipient of the GAWAD KALASAG SEAL OF EXCELLENCE!” Buenavista town became an awardee for this excellence as it garnered a rating of 1.67 in the 23rd Gawad Kalasag Seal for Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Councils and Offices (LDRRMCOs) Category for CY 2023.
