Saulog Tagbilaran 2024 Executive Committee Chairperson Mayor Jane Yap, convened and led the attendees of the  planning and coordination meeting held at the City Mayor’s office on January 17, 2024 for the activities of the upcoming Saulog 2024 Street Dancing Competition and Festival King and Queen event.

The meeting, presided over by City Budget Officer Marysol Perocho, who also serves as the Chairperson of the Street Dancing and Festival King and Queen 2024, was marked by collaborative discussions aimed at ensuring the seamless holding of these much awaited events.

In the meeting, Mayor Yap expressed enthusiasm about Saulog 2024 making not just a festival but a dynamic showcase of Tagbilaran’s cultural wealth.

The mayor emphasized the importance of meticulous planning to make these events not only entertaining but also culturally meaningful.

“I believe Saulog 2024 holds the potential to be a transformative celebration, uniting our city through the vibrant expressions of our culture. It’s more than an event; it’s an opportunity for us to share the identity of Tagbilaran City to the world,” Mayor Yap stated.

City Treasurer Hubert Inas together with Tagbilaran City Events, Culture and Arts Office Head and Saulog Creative Director, Joseph Alexis Cadelina, was present during the meeting providing insights and creative inputs to elevate the quality of the festival to a higher level.

The coordination efforts involved key figures from the different sectors, with the presence of the 15 barangay captains led by Liga ng mga Barangay City Federated President Sergio Bangalao. Also present were the 15 barangay sangguniang kabataan (SK) chairpersons, headed by City SK Federated President Adrian Clark Bandija, and all demonstrated their commitment to ensuring the active participation of the youth in the festivities.

Discussions during the meeting covered various aspects, from choreography and cultural authenticity to logistical details and safety protocol.

The goal is to make Saulog 2024 not only visually spectacular but also a responsible and inclusive celebration that involves every sector of the community.
