POTABLE WATER FOR CABILAO ISLAND. Loon Mayor Elvi Peter L. Relampagos (center) points at the direction of the 6-inch diameter Submarine High Density Polyethylene Transmission Pipeline gushing with fresh water from the Loon mainland that will supply potable water to the entire Cabilao Island. The opening of the Cabilao Island Waterworks Project was held on February 20, 2024 in barangay Talisay, Cabilao Island, Loon, Bohol. With Mayor Relampagos is Atty. Abel R. Damalerio (to the right of Mayor Relampagos), the chief of staff of Cong. Edgar M. Chatto, and DPWH Bohol First District Engr. John Paul T. Gascon (to the left of the Mayor). Standing (in background) is former provincial administrator, Ae Damalerio.  Also in attendance during the activity were Balilihan Vice Mayor Trisha V.  Chatto, who came on behalf of her father, Cong. Chatto; BM Venzencio B.  Arcamo; BM Aldner R. Damalerio; Loon Vice Mayor Lloyd Peter M. Lopez, MD; members of the 15th Sangguniang Bayan, and the barangay officials of Mocpoc Sur, Mocpoc Norte, and the representatives of the five barangays of Cabilao Island. The underwater pipeline traverses 1.9 kilometers (or 1.026 nautical miles) from barangay Mocpoc Sur in the mainland to barangay Talisay in Cabilao Island. Funding of the project is through the initiative of Cong. Edgar M. Chatto with inclusion in the General Appropriations Act (GAA 2023) and implemented by the Bohol First Engineering District of the Department of Public Works and Highways. Contributed photo
