” THE IDES OF MARCH “

With discontent and discord apparent, it would not be difficult  to foresee  that a storm is brewing  in paradise.

The appearance of “whistleblowers”, individuals in the know who have come out in the open to expose alleged anomalies and wrongdoings of the present Capitol administration  is  food for serious thought.

Erstwhile allies and close supporters who have expressed disgust and disappointment over the  present leadership’s management of government affairs, present a rude awakening to the harsh reality that confronts us.

Since day one, when the new administration  took over amid a strong clamor for anti-corruption and better living conditions for our people,  nothing much has been done. We have yet to see the fulfillment of bold election promises made to lure voters  to their cause.

Yet, events unfolding are showing the ugly side of a “clean public exterior” we have been led to believe. The hypocrisy and stench of our kind of politics are all over.

Ret. Col .Teofisto Cabagnot, the Governor’s close relative wasted no time lambasting the Capitol’s henchmen for alleged involvement in the illegal numbers game in his facebook posts. He insinuated what he knew of the illicit wheelings and dealings held away from public scrutiny.

It is worth mentioning that previously, the good Colonel was accused of being behind the operations of the “illegal suertres” in the province. The accusations and counter-accusations and finger pointing only reinforce the fact that, indeed, something is happening underneath our noses.

In another explosive development, a Mr. Ronnie Orillosa, a student leader in his heyday who ran for a city council seat in the last elections but lost, and who actively supported the campaign of the present leadership, had his share of disappointments and frustrations to expose in his media interviews.

While referring to it as a wakeup call for the current top Provincial honcho, it nevertheless exposed the vulnerabilities of this administration, our people were never aware of. The “League of Governors” as he termed it, in reference to 7 trusted aides who act with authority in the Capitol, is both intriguing and concerning.

Yet, these steady noises and outcry coming not from the opposition but from within the Capitol’s ranks, is an eye-opener for everyone.  It validates long-held suspicions that this administration is not infallible and beyond reproach as what we were made to believe by their propaganda .

Whether or not it is the handiwork of the opposition digging for skeletons in the closet to use against the sitting powers, matters not. But one thing is for certain .

The outcry did not come from the outside but from within their ranks. Simply put, it started with their bickering and perhaps could bring the house down.

Would it? Did it? If it would and if it did, they brought it upon themselves.

Good luck Bohol!
