The Tagbilaran City School Division of the Department of Education celebrated its 21st Foundation Anniversary at the Bohol Cultural Center here in Tagbilaran City on Friday, March 15.
The theme anchors on “Echoes of Excellence Celebrating Success and Honoring the Architects of Tagbilaran City Division”.
Tagbilaran City Mayor Jane Yap was one of the guests of honor and speakers of the celebration.
She was with the former City Mayor and now chief of staff John Geenell “Baba” Yap.
The City Division’s 21st Founding Anniversary was also attended by City Vice-Mayor Adam Relson Jala and the members of the 15th Sangguniang Panlungsod. Governor Aris Aumentado also graced the occasion.
The City Division led by Schools Division Superintendent Wilfreda Bongalos led the celebration and the honoring of this year’s deserving awardees: the founders Dr. Erlinda Mahinay, Dr. Elpidio Jala, Vice-Mayor Jorge Cabalit, Mayor Jose Torralba, Congressman Edgar Chatto, Governor Erico B. Aumentado.
They also give honors to the former local chief executives: Mayor Dan Neri Lim, Mayor John Geenell Yap, and incumbent Mayor Jane Censoria Yap.
It also honored past and present superintendents; Elpidio Jala, Norma Varquez, Erlinda Mahinay, Dr. Evangel Luminarias, Dr. Virginia Zapanta, Dr. Neri Ojastro, Dr. Joseph Irwin Lagura, and Dr. Wilfreda Bongalos.
The City DepEd also gave honors to 24 retired supervisors, 4 posthumous awards to retired supervisors, while special citation was given to City Vice-Mayor Adam Relson Jala, members of the 15th Sangguniang Panlungsod and members of the school board.
