In a bid to empower women economically, Mayor Joseph A. Rañola (inset, upper left corner) of the Municipality of Jagna, launched a long-term livelihood program aimed at fostering gender equality and social inclusion within the community. As part of this initiative, the Kahugpungan sa Kababayen-an sa Jagna/Local Council of Women (KKJ-LCW) recently benefited from an Entrepreneurship Seminar and Business Model Canvas Workshop organized by the Jagna Sustainable Micro Enterprise Development Unit (JaSMED) in collaboration with DTI Negosyo Center Jagna. The workshop, held on March 19, 2024 at Goyo Hall, Municipal building provided valuable insights into fundamental entrepreneurship concepts and practical strategies for building and expanding micro or small-scale enterprises. Led by Timoteo L. Escolano, Jr., In-Charge of the JaSMED Unit, and facilitated by DTI Negosyo Center Business Counsellor Ms. Hazel Ann L. Pasco, the event equipped participants with tools to identify growth opportunities and document their plans for success. Through such initiatives, Jagna is not only championing economic empowerment but also nurturing a more inclusive and vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem, where women are empowered to thrive. As Women’s Month concludes, the momentum for gender equality and economic empowerment continues to gather strength in communities across the Philippines and beyond. Contributed photo
