Pres. CPG Pitogo recognized as most improved municipality in PH

President Carlos Garcia in Bohol has been recognized as the 10th Most Improved Municipality in the Philippines in the 3rd to 4th class category, according to the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI). 

The announcement was made during the annual Cities and Municipalities Competitive Index (CMCI) awards, which assess the performance of local government units nationwide based on five key pillars: economic dynamism, government efficiency, infrastructure, resiliency, and innovation.

The awards ceremony took place on August 23, 2024, at the Manila Hotel. 

BASIS OF IMPROVED RANKING

President Carlos P. Garcia town was recognized as the 10th Most Improved Municipality in the Philippines (3rd to 4th class category) by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) at the 2024 Cities and Municipalities Competitive Index (CMCI) awards.

CMCI assesses the performance of local government units nationwide based on five key pillars: Economic dynamism; Government efficiency; Infrastructure; Resiliency; and Innovation.

Some of CPG Pitogo Island’s notable achievements that contributed to this recognition include: Improving Economic Dynamism – Reorienting national economic policies to focus on producing basic necessities like food, shelter and clothing; Establishing agricultural industries to utilize natural resources and generate machinery for the agro-industrial structure; and Continuing low-cost housing projects and land redistribution programs;

Enhancing Government Efficiency: Strengthening moral fiber and integrity in government alongside material abundance and Pursuing vigorous social amelioration and security programs; and Developing Infrastructure – Stepping up the tempo of establishing agricultural industries. Promoting Resiliency – Continuing health development activities especially in rural areas; and Fostering Innovation: Emphasizing science, industrial and agricultural technology in youth education.

These initiatives under Mayor Fernando Estavilla helped drive President Carlos P. Garcia town’s rise to become the 10th Most Improved Municipality in the 3rd to 4th class category in the 2024 CMCI rankings.
