A new batch of 24 lawyers from Bohol has been announced, with several individuals from the province passing the bar exam.
According to an FB post from Congressman Atty. Edgar Chatto, the latest batch of new lawyers includes several Boholano attorneys who graduated from Bohol-based universities such as Holy Name University, University of Bohol, and Bohol Institute of Technology, as well as from outside-Bohol schools.
The Integrated Bar of the Philippines – Bohol Chapter released an initial list of new Boholano lawyers, which includes:
From Holy Name University: Attys. Awachi, Jurist; Bagtasos, Fidel; Busan, Froian Keith Borja; Bolo, Kim Joshua; Dalumbar, Fatima Mae; Ensuya, Glenn; Estoquia, Jude; Galas, Hawthorne; Galeos, Roxanne; Navales, Ma. Emily; Ong, Mary Ebone; Pacional, Colin; Ramirez-Gasco, Sharalyn; and Ylaya, Princess.
From University of Bohol: Atty. Kimberly Bitoonan.
From Bohol Institute of Technology: Attys. Ayuban, Nino Kim A.; Demetila, Jean G.; and Escaso, Ramil A.
Several Boholano lawyers also graduated from outside-Bohol schools, including Attys. Adiong, Ma. The new lawyers were congratulated by Congressman Chatto, who expressed pride in the achievements of the 24 new attorneys from Bohol. The list of new lawyers is subject to updating by the Integrated Bar of the Philippines – Bohol Chapter.
The results of the 2024 Bar Examinations were announced on December 13, 2024, by the Supreme Court of the Philippines, revealing a total of 3,962 successful examinees out of 10,490 candidates.
This marks a passing rate of 37.84%, an increase from last year’s rate of 33.77%.
The examinations took place over three days—September 8, 11, and 15—across 13 testing centers nationwide.
Top Performers
The standout performer this year was Kyle Christian Gorrero Tutor from the University of the Philippines, who topped the exam with an impressive score of 85.77%. The top ten passers are as follows:
