IBP-BOHOL HOLDS ORIENTATION OF NEW LAWYERS

The 26th Board of Officers and Directors of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines – Bohol Chapter (“IBP-Bohol”) hosted the 2025 Orientation of New Lawyers last February 8, 2025, at Panda Tea Garden Suites, Tagbilaran City, Bohol. Yours truly welcomed the 2024 Lopez Bar Passers to the noble profession of law and IBP-Bohol Chapter, reminded them of their public duty to help the poor, marginalized and the oppressed and showcased some of the notable programs, projects and activities of the Chapter for the welfare of Boholano lawyers. 

The first lecturer was Atty. Licelle D. Zamora, Immediate Past President, who discussed about IBP as an organization, IBP-Bohol Chapter and its activities and the Unified Legal Aid Service. Branch Clerk of Court of the Regional Trial Court of Tagbilaran City, Branch 1, Atty. Ariel J. Ramirez, discussed the topic “How to be a Notary Public: Contents of the Petition and Requirements to be a Notary Public, Do’s and Don’t’s of the Notarial Practice and Honesto Notario Memorandum. Chapter Secretary, Atty. Lady Victoria Dejaňo, serenaded the participants for an Intermission Number. 

Officer-in-Charge of the Tagbilaran City Prosecution Office, Hon. Adolfo M. Doroy, discussed the topic “Inspiring New Lawyers to Joint Government Service, Handling Cases before the Prosecutor’s Office: Practical Tips, Do’s and Don’ts and What to Expect during Preliminary Investigation/Clarificatory Hearing. Chapter Vice President, Atty. John Jeric S. Lim, discussed the topic “Sink-or-Swim: How to Survive in Private Practice”. The participants were then given Certificates of Participation and Tokens of Welcome, i.e., IBP Tariff Standee and Nyor/a: Abogadong Bol-anon Privilege Card. Chapter Director, Atty. Harold T. Bayarcal, delivered the Closing Remarks.
