Bohol Light announced Friday a new billing cycle beginning this month that will affect thousands of customers.
The utility company’s new schedule segments customers into three categories: top 100 accounts, hospitals, government offices and street lights on March 16; commercial consumers on March 17; and residential consumers from March 18-30, 2025.
Officials said the transition could result in either shorter billing periods of 19-27 days or extended cycles of 32-55 days for March bills, with regular billing expected to resume in April.
“We understand this change may cause confusion, which is why we’re implementing customer assistance measures,” said a Bohol Light statement.
For customers facing longer billing periods exceeding 31 days, the company is offering several accommodations: no surcharges, no disconnections until April bills are issued, and staggered payment plans.
The company has conducted extensive community outreach through focus group discussions with barangay councils, participation in family development seminars and senior citizen meetings, radio announcements, bill inserts, and informational tarpaulins displayed at markets, ports, terminals and other public areas.
Customers seeking additional information can visit the Bohol Light Facebook page, the company website at bohollight.com, or call +63 920-960-2372 or +63 38-427-2372.
Company representatives will also be visiting barangays in the coming weeks.
