A post by a troll page saying that Rep. Edgar Chatto has withdrawn from the first district congressional race is absolutely false, according to his campaign team.
The incumbent congressman continues campaigning for his third and final term representing Bohol’s first district, the team said.
Chatto’s team slammed the fake news spread by The Bohol Marites page claiming he has withdrawn from the race.
The Bohol Marites page has been maliciously manufacturing false info about Chatto while promoting Baba Yap on its posts.
“The congressman has been very active on the campaign trail, focusing on service delivery to his constituents,” the team said.
His plans include following through with the Gallares campus hospital scheduled to open this year. Chatto also aims to build more Super Mega Health Centers and support hospital construction in Panglao town.
Moreover, he is advocating for a sports and tourism institute at Bohol Island State University’s Balilihan campus and providing assistance to BISU Tagbilaran’s College of Medicine.
Despite what his office calls a “demolition job,” Chatto remains committed to serving the people of the first district.
In an official statement, Rep. Chatto said: “Way hunong ang ilang mga fake news ug uban pang pagpangdaot karong panahona.
