Murang Kuryente Partylist has landed in the top four of the most preferred party-list groups in Bohol, according to the latest Bohol Poll pre-election survey conducted by the Holy Name University (HNU) Research Center from April 18 to May 4, 2025.

With 6.7 percent of respondents choosing it as their preferred party-list, Murang Kuryente ranked fourth overall among the 24% of voters who had a specific party-list in mind.

The party’s growing support reflects rising public concern over energy costs and the need for reforms in the power sector.

Murang Kuryente is led by its first nominee, Atty. Arthur “Art” Yap, a prominent national figure and former governor of Bohol.

Yap previously served as Secretary of the Department of Agriculture and was a member of the House of Representatives for the Third District of Bohol.

His leadership and track record in public service are seen as key factors driving the party’s appeal in his home province.

Topping the poll was AGAP Partylist with 26.4 percent, followed by Puwersa ng Pilipinong Pandagat (12.2%) and Construction Workers Solidarity Inc. (11.1%).

Other notable party-lists included ACT-CIS (4.9%), Abante Bisdak (4.7%), and Duterte Youth (4.7%).

As energy issues continue to dominate the national conversation, Murang Kuryente’s platform of affordable electricity and energy reform may position it as a strong voice in the next Congress.
