The Commission on Elections (Comelec) on Tuesday proclaimed the winners of Monday’s provincial and local elections, with most races concluding without major incidents.

Gov. Aris Aumentado secured another three-year term, while his running mate, Board Member Nick Besas, was elected vice governor.

In the congressional races, former Tagbilaran City Mayor John Geesnell “Baba” Yap was proclaimed representative of the 1st District. Re-electionists Rep. Van-van Aumentado (2nd District) and Rep. Kristine Alexie Tutor (3rd District) retained their seats.

Comelec provincial director Eliseo Labaria reported that the election and canvassing were generally peaceful and orderly, with no major untoward incidents.

A delay was reported in Valencia due to issues with an automated counting machine (ACM).

The newly elected board members for the 1st District are Mutya Macuno, Lucille Lagunay and Benjie Arcamo.

For the 2nd District, the winners are Jamie Villamor, Tommy Abapo and Fernando Estavilla.

In the 3rd District, Tita Baja, DJ Balite, Nathaniel Binlod and Greg Jala were proclaimed as board members.

One Bohol Slate Suffers Defeat

All candidates under the One Bohol banner were defeated in the polls, despite claims of strong public backing.

Top contender and former Tagbilaran mayor Atty. Dan Lim lost, along with his running mate Gerry Garcia.

Second District bets Modesto Membreve, Frans Garcia and Mimi Boniel also failed to win.

Candidates Atty. Mc Aldous Castañares, Elpidio Bonita, Lileth Abundo and Rene Espinosa were likewise defeated.

The slate had aligned itself with the Dutertes and received an endorsement from Vice President Sara Duterte, which ultimately proved insufficient.
