The Local Government Unit of Tubigon expressed gratitude to Cong. Edgar Chatto for the Tubigon Resettlement Project.

This as Mayor William Jao along with the National Housing Authority (NHA) represented by Bohol manager Genesis Manalili led the ceremonial signing for the Memorandum of Agreement for the project implementation.

The signing was witnessed by Atty. Abel Damalerio, Chief of Staff of Chatto’s office along with beneficiaries and members of the Tubigon Isles and Homeowners Association Inc.

Chatto had been in touch with NHA General Manager Joeben Tai who assured of the efficiency of timelines for the project.

Bidding and awarding for the project is targeted for June.

Meanwhile, Jao underscored Chatto’s role in facilitating and raising funds for the project.

Moreover, Joseph Leo Lagurra, housing consultant for Tubigon, emphasized how Chatto championed and initiated this effort without hesitation.

“I salute you for your steadfast commitment to making this project happen. Even if the recent election results did not favor you, I sincerely hope the people of the First District see and remember that you remain the one who has consistently delivered substantial accomplishments for your constituents,” Lagorra mentioned in an official statement.

Lagorra also acknowledged the full support of the Sangguniang Bayan of Tubigon led by Vice Mayor Rene Villaber.

The project, funded P60 million, will build 80 housing units for beneficiaries from Tubigon islands that are affected by sea level rise due to climate change.

The housing units will be located in a 7,842.22 square meter lot in Barangay Genonocan in Tubigon.

Each rowhouse with a 28.40sq.m floor area will sit on a 40 sq.m. lot in the relocation development with concrete roads, reinforced concrete pipes for drainage, sanitary facilities.

The project site also includes provisions for a multipurpose basketball court, tricycle terminal, materials recovery facility and talipapa.

Chatto had earlier bridged LGU Tubigon and NHA Bohol with the House Committee on Housing and Urban Development under Cong. Kiko Benitez, Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD), NHA through general manager Tai and the National Anti Poverty Commission (NAPC).
