The municipality of Balilihan, Bohol kicked off a three-day mid-year governance review and investment planning workshop on May 19, 2026, even as the town was separately feted with a P300,000 provincial award for topping the Bohol ecological solid waste management competition.
Mayor Trisha Chatto led the Mid-Year Strategic Review of Programs, Projects, and Activities for 2026 and the Planning Workshop for the Annual Investment Plan for 2027, held at Panglao Vista in Dao, Dauis.
Vice Mayor Lorenzo Baliong Jr., all Sangguniang Bayan members, department heads, and other local officials also attended the three-day brainstorming activity.
Chatto said the review and planning workshop is a critical step to ensure that every government effort and public fund is properly directed and yields the greatest benefit for constituents.
She urged officials and staff to actively contribute ideas and ensure lasting, high-impact outcomes for every Balilihan family.
Meanwhile, Governor Aris Cabagnot Aumentado announced that Balilihan placed first province-wide in the Ecological Solid Waste Management Evaluation for Best Practices, earning the municipality a P300,000 cash prize from the Provincial Government of Bohol.
Aumentado credited Chatto and Balilihan residents for their sustained cooperation in proper waste segregation and disposal, which he said has kept the town clean, orderly, and well-maintained.
The governor also recognized Gilbert Mejorada, who oversees the waste management program, and acting Municipal Treasurer Ma. Elena Santillan for their dedication and contribution to the town’s winning performance in the province-wide assessment.
Aumentado said the recognition proves that unity and sound environmental management can sustain a clean and healthy community for all Boholanos.
