Bohol Light warns consumers of possible rate hike in June bill
Bohol Light warned its consumers that the rate may increase in June bill.
This was disclosed by Sheryl Paga on June 17, 2026.
The hike is due to increased demand for electricity and limited available power supplied to the Visayas grid.
She said it is often there are red or yellow alerts.
The grid needs high demand for power since May and still persists this month.
This is the reason for manual load dropping in different electric distribution utilities as directed by the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines or NGCP.
The manual load dropping is a temporary step to ensure power stability and avoid damage to the grid when the power available is limited.
As demand increases, and reserve power lowers, there is a possibility of using more expensive power plants to address the needs of consumers.
This is one of the reasons the bill increased as consumers are urged to save on electricity.
One should unplug appliances when not in use or to turn off the lights when not in use.
One should use energy-efficient appliances and avoid using too much power during peak hours to help ease the pressure on the grid and assure the steady supply of power.
One may call at 515 2370 to 2375 or 0917 557 6120.
