Local investment grows with new Tagbilaran openings
Mayor Jane Yap welcomed the opening and expansion of several businesses in Tagbilaran City in a recent Facebook post.
She described the developments as indicators of sustained local investment and growing economic activity in the city.
Among the newly opened establishments was the Bohol Pickleball Market.
It held its grand opening on July 30, 2026 at Marbella Leisure Plaza in Gallares, Poblacion II.
The new sports-oriented retail business is expected to cater to the growing pickleball community in Tagbilaran.
It will also support the city’s emerging recreational and wellness sector.
Also inaugurated on that day was Borja Dental Care.
It is located along Thomas Cloma Avenue in Barangay Taloto, across St. Peter Mega Chapel.
The opening adds another healthcare and dental service provider to the city’s expanding professional services sector.
Meanwhile, Vertulfo Dental Clinic formally opened the newly completed extension of its facility.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony was held on July 18, 2026 at the Lower Ground Floor of the Castelcelo Building in Poblacion II.
The expansion is expected to enhance the clinic’s capacity to serve more patients and provide additional dental services.
Mayor Yap said the opening and expansion of businesses in the sports, healthcare, and professional services sectors reflect the confidence of entrepreneurs in Tagbilaran’s business environment.
“Every new business and every expansion represents opportunities for employment, investment, and better services for our people.
These developments contribute to a stronger local economy and affirm that Tagbilaran continues to be an attractive place for entrepreneurs and service providers,” Mayor Yap said.
The mayor added that the city government remains committed to supporting a business-friendly environment.
This environment encourages entrepreneurship while improving the availability of services and recreational opportunities for Tagbilaranons.

Career Expo set in Tagbilaran for Diamond Jubilee
The City Government of Tagbilaran will stage a Career Expo and Local and Overseas Job Fair on August 15, 2026.
The event is part of the city’s 60th Diamond Charter Anniversary celebration.
It will offer employment and livelihood opportunities for local residents and overseas job aspirants.
The Trabaho, Negosyo, Kabuhayan (TNK) – Local and Overseas Job Fair will be held at the Covered Court of Barangay Cabawan.
Morning activities will be devoted to government programs and services orientation.
The job fair proper is scheduled to begin in the afternoon.
The event is being spearheaded by the Tagbilaran City Public Employment Service Office (PESO) headed by Mark Borja.
It is being held under the leadership of Mayor Jane Yap and Vice Mayor Adam Jala.
According to the city government, the career expo is being organized in partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).
Other partners include the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), and the PESO Managers Association of the Philippines–Bohol Chapter.
The activity is expected to bring together employers from various industries.
Job opportunities will be offered in hotel and restaurant management, construction, engineering, manufacturing, sales and merchandising, medical and caregiving services, banking and finance, information technology, general administrative work, and business process outsourcing (BPO).
Applicants are encouraged to bring a comprehensive résumé or biodata.
They should also bring diploma or transcript of records, employment and training certificates, NBI clearance, valid identification photos, and passports for overseas work applicants.
Job seekers are advised to pre-register online through the Tagbilaran City PESO registration portal.
They may also visit the PESO Office at Tagbilaran City Hall to secure registration cards ahead of the event.
The city government said the TNK Job Fair forms part of the broader Diamond Jubilee program.
The program carries the theme “One Family, One City.”

CAVO announces August vet services for all 15 barangays
The City Government of Tagbilaran, through the City Agriculture and Veterinary Office (CAVO), has announced the August 2026 schedule for its regular pet registration and veterinary services program.
The program will cover all 15 barangays in the city.
Under the program, pet owners may avail of annual registration for ₱100 per pet.
Lifetime registration with microchipping is also available for ₱400 per pet.
CAVO will also provide free rabies vaccination and free deworming services during the scheduled barangay visits.
Pet registration activities have already been completed in barangays Bool, Dao, Cabawan and Poblacion II.

August 10 – Barangay Poblacion III (9:00 AM – 12:00 NN).
August 11 – Barangay Booy (9:00 AM – 12:00 NN).
August 12 – Barangay Dampas (9:00 AM – 12:00 NN).
August 13 – Barangay Taloto (9:00 AM – 12:00 NN).
August 17 – Barangay Tiptip (2:00 PM – 5:00 PM).
August 18 – Barangay Poblacion I (2:00 PM – 5:00 PM).
August 19 – Barangay Manga (2:00 PM – 5:00 PM).
August 20 – Barangay San Isidro (2:00 PM – 5:00 PM).
August 24 – Barangay Cogon (9:00 AM – 12:00 NN).
August 25 – Barangay Mansasa (9:00 AM – 12:00 NN).

CAVO OIC Dr. Carl Leonard Pradera reminded all residents to arrive on time.
Pet owners should bring any necessary documents if applicable.
They are also advised to place dogs on a leash and secure cats in carriers for the safety of both the animals and the public.
City officials said the continuing barangay-based veterinary program reflects Tagbilaran’s commitment to animal welfare.
It also supports rabies prevention and accessible veterinary services.
The program helps build a safer, healthier, and more pet-friendly community for all Tagbilaranons.
