Batuan Vice Mayor Antonino Jumawid (inset, upper left corner) announced that the entire Sangguniang Bayan of Batuan unanimously approved two key ordinances on peace and order and public participation. Ordinance No. 24, Series of 2026, authored by Kagawad Marvin Pancho, enshrines the right of the people and stakeholders to meaningful consultation from budget preparation to project implementation. The SB also approved an ordinance allowing the PNP and authorized law enforcement officers access to CCTV systems in public and private premises for crime investigation and peace and order maintenance, subject to proper protocols and legal safeguards. “These ordinances reflect our commitment: governance belongs to the people, and safety is the responsibility of everyone,” Vice Mayor Jumawid said.
